SIEMPRE: Science – Integrity – Empowerment – Mobility-Renewable & Educational Projects, is a non-for-profit organization formally put on the move in May, 2017 with the objective of making visible and offering support to Latin American migrant women, promoting their skills and endorsing them to be part of their community.
As migrant women we put emphasis on the development of the required knowledge and skills for a good adaptation and integration path. We focus on migrants that potentially are isolated because of their situation. We have concluded that the migratory experience could be more bearable for women if they can join projects in synergy with other women who have already undergone similar paths. SIEMPRE has an intersectional feminist perspective that guides our analyses and actions, and we promote sorority among women.
Moreover, SIEMPRE focuses on:
Achieving visibility of Latin American women in Europe, the challenges they encounter and the institutional barriers for their integration and personal development.
Network and interact with other NGOs, mainly in Europe and Latin America, and to work in collaboration with migrant communities.
Likewise, we organize debates, cultural activities and participate in congresses that allow us to achieve this visibility.
This space is directed to Latin American migrant women, who are looking for information about their rights, duties and real opportunities in Belgium. All this information is shared without having a political or religious affiliation and mostly in Spanish. Through digital media we give them an up-to-date source of information.
